About the therapist
Leslie Collord is a licensed mental health counselor providing outpatient services for adults and teens ages 13+ on a range of issues including anxiety, depression, sleep problems, relationship issues, life transitions, and burnout and stress-related challenges. Between Us Counseling is located within the Fort Vancouver Historic Site, less than five minutes from the Oregon-Washington border, and offers weekend appointments as well as weekday availability. Office days are Monday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, with telehealth only on Tuesdays.
Approach
I use a collaborative, evidence-based approach using client needs, goals, and strengths to guide the therapeutic process. I use various modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I), Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT), Solution Focused Therapy, and The Gottman Method.
I welcome diverse viewpoints and open dialogue. It is only through the free expression of our thoughts, feelings, views, and beliefs that we arrive at a better understanding of ourselves and our situation. I am committed to providing high quality compassionate, client-centered care free of social agendas or ideologies.
Education and Experience
I received a master’s degree in Professional Mental Health Counseling Psychology from Lewis & Clark Graduate School in 2017 and a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Portland State University in 2015. Previously I worked in community mental health settings with adults, teens, children, and families on a range of issues including anxiety, depression, schizophrenia, trauma, and significant life transitions including divorce, death, and blended family issues.
Beyond Counseling
I’m a lifelong Pacific Northwesterner and love to spend time at the gym, in nature, reading, hanging out with friends or family, or with any critter in proximity.
